Why Use EAGLE Windows?
Release date: 6/3/2002
Why EAGLE? Because You Can have it all: Design Flexibility • Structural Integrity • Cost Savings
Many architects, builders, and consumers ask, "Why EAGLE?" Because the low-maintenance, patented construction on its aluminum-clad windows and doors provides the structural integrity consumers want for their homes and are what businesses need for their commercial construction. EAGLE will save you time and money via factory set-ups, modular sizing, and consistent quality throughout. Less work for the contractor means significant savings on installation costs.
EAGLE is the Best Choice Because… • All wood members of the frame and sash are select kiln dried, water repellent, and preservative treated.
• Low-E Maximizer Plus® glass is standard on all EAGLE product and provides year-round energy savings.
• EAGLE frames its windows with Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) which is much more structurally sound, controls costs, and saves trees.
• EAGLE uses extruded aluminum on its clad windows and doors to ensure a lifetime of beauty and performance, unlike thinner roll-formed aluminum or vinyl. EAGLE's extruded aluminum cladding carries a lifetime structural warranty!
• The aluminum cladding slides on to the wood frame as opposed to being attached by screws or nails. This allows for even less chance of moisture infiltration while allowing each component to expand and contract at its own rate.
• The durability of the exterior paint finish is achieved by first pre-treating it in a zinc oxide bath, then priming and painting it without ever being touched by human hands! The paint is mechanically sprayed onto the aluminum by way of electrostatic application. It then travels through an oven and is baked-on to create a durable, long-lasting finish. This procedure provides an exceptional level of performance in terms of film integrity, exterior weatherability, and general appearance for years to come.
• All EAGLE product is sealed to the outside; glazing tape is used instead of caulk, which gives a consistent look and seal.
• Compression bulb weatherstrip is applied to the sash and frame for maximum weatherseal.
• Decorative grilles are factory installed.
• Mull strips come to the job-site factory applied.
• Wood interior stops and extension jambs come to the job-site factory applied.
• Step jambs are factory applied. This helps trimmers on the job site match up transoms with double-hungs or casements so the glass on all parts are on the same plane. Saves time and money.
• If so desired, each component of the window/door interior is primed before it is put together—at no extra cost!
• EAGLE's glass panes are designed for easy, less expensive replacement. Should one break, you simply replace the glass itself, not the entire sash.
• On bay windows, EAGLE installs the extension jambs and head- and seat- boards before the unit is shipped. • EAGLE factory-installs vinyl nailing fins which snap into a kerf on the frame exterior, helping to form a weathertight perimeter around the window and to provide positive anchorage. Other window companies use aluminum nailing fins which bend and twist, making it cumbersome for installers.
• On the interior of EAGLE windows and French doors, what you see is what you get—100% wood. In other words, there is no unsightly vinyl or aluminum cladding showing on the interior of an EAGLE window or French door.
• A selection of optional interior factory pre-finishes are available. Each interior wood component is pre-finished before the window is assembled.
• EAGLE's decorative glass is designed for easy cleaning. The glass is sandwiched between two flat panes of glass for dust-free protection.
• EAGLE swinging doors are sold with 3-point hardware on the control panel of the door. This prevents the panels from warping and keeps the weatherstripping tighter.
• EAGLE offers a choice of 50 standard exterior colors at no additional charge.
• Customers can mix standard colors on the same unit (one color on the sash and another on the frame) with no upcharge!
